Walton-on-Thames Churchyard & Cemetery Part One 2007 – 2009

I used to live in a house that backed on to the churchyard here. I don’t particularly miss the house, nice though it was, but I do miss the churchyard.

Above and photos below: There are three CWGC burials in the churchyard, all of which are casualties of the Second World War.

The adjoining cemetery has 33 CWGC burials, this time all but three being First World War casualties:

Above & below: 22 New Zealanders buried in nearby plots in the cemetery are remembered on two screen walls near the north west entrance.

According to the CWGC, both Private McDiarmid and Captain Ward are known to be buried in the cemetery but their graves have since been lost.
