French Flanders: Armentières, Nieppe & Steenwerck Part Seven – Trois Arbres Cemetery
Leaving the Armentières-Bailleul road, and taking the southern turn-off from Pont-d’Achelles, after a short distance we reach Trois Arbres Cemetery, where over 1,700 British soldiers are now buried or commemorated.
French Flanders: Fromelles Part Nine – Anzac Cemetery
Anzac Cemetery was begun by the 2nd Australian Field Ambulance, close to an advanced dressing station, just before the attack at Fromelles in July 1916, and was used from then until the German advance of April 1918.

French Flanders: Fromelles Part Six – The Australian Memorial Park
The Australian Memorial Park was opened on 5th July 1998 to commemorate the Australians who fought and died during the Battle of Fromelles in July 1916.

French Flanders: Fromelles Part Five – V. C. Corner Australian Cemetery & Memorial
And so we find ourselves on the battlefield of Fromelles. Half a mile south east of Le Trou Aid Post Cemetery, this is V.C. Corner Australian Cemetery and, beyond the Cross of Sacrifice, the Australian Memorial that stands within.

A short distance south of Rue-du-Bois Military Cemetery, and now just two miles from Fromelles and only half a mile from the front lines, our next stop is the beautiful Le Trou Aid Post Cemetery.
