We stayed in the village of St Teath last year. I was interested to note then that the RAF casualty had been killed in 1947 at the age of 18, so wasn’t a WW2 casualty but received a CWGC headstone. Cracking pub in the village btw if anyone decides to visit.

Aircraftman Hill died on 3rd December 1947. The reason he has a CWGC headstone is that the WWII qualifying dates for a headstone are 3rd September 1939 to 31st December 1947, and thus he qualifies by a few weeks. Had he died a month later, he would not have been entitled to one (even if he died of a war-related injury).
