Yesterday I returned from my first Flanders trip in three years.
A two-day trip to visit three cemeteries, all within the Ypres area, that I have somehow failed to visit in over twenty years of exploring Flanders’ Fields.
How many times have I been to Zillebeke? And yet I have never been here before.
And to revisit, for very good reasons, three other cemeteries,…
…including this vast one,…
…and this considerably vaster one, neither of which I have visited for well over fifteen years. And both of which need to be properly covered on this website. It was a trip of glorious weather, of Victoria Crosses, of executed men, of unknown men, of panel after panel of brave men’s names, and all will, eventually, be revealed for your reading and viewing pleasure.
In the meantime, Baldrick, here seen signing the cemetery visitor’s book (try not to forget to do so should you visit the cemeteries) says hi.
