New Arrival

I’m very sorry about this.  I don’t normally do this sort of thing.

But having treated myself to the most expensive new book I have ever bought (and thank heavens for the decent discount), I feel the urge to share.

Großartig!

Thanks, but I for one would never object to you sharing your sources and/or reference material. That new book looks a cracker, who (UK?) did you obtain it from?

Hello mate! A few minutes after publishing this post I headed off for the Eurostar to spend a few days with the family Baldrick – as one does – and got back late last night. So a slightly late response. This is not actually where I got the book, but this will give you an idea of what these publishers do:

      Staggering stuff.

    Hey Magicfingers,

Yes, expensive but looks a big heavy good quality book. 150 pounds new at Book Depository or US$130 used at Abe Books. Plus shipping…

Interesting subject. I read somewhere recently one of the fastest growing genre in publishing is military history books. Some publications out on the most obscure military subjects… many individual stories of soldiers by children or more likely grandchildren or even the next generation, finding diaries a lot of the time.

Thanks for sharing mate, keep up the good work as usual.

Did you find the bunkers at Le Maisnil?

    Daisy.

My missus keeps telling me that I should somehow turn this website into some kind of book but I’m not sure I’d know quite where to start! Particularly as much of the site depends on what you can actually see and read in the photos, and the ability to zoom in on stuff, and I don’t see how you can do that in book form. Check out the link in my response to John btw. And no, we failed at Le Maisnil in October, didn’t go near on this trip, so I think, bearing in mind the lie of the land, I shall now wait till after this years harvest.
