At Last!

For the first time in over three years, come the morning I shall once again be heading off to drag Baldrick, kicking & screaming, doubtless, around Flanders’ soggy fields.

There are a little under twenty five CWGC cemeteries in Belgian Flanders that I have yet to visit,…

…and it may well be that, with a fair wind and a following sea, that number will be down to single figures by the time I return home.

Whatever our adventures, I will relate all in due course.  After the upcoming French Flanders tour, that is……

We got home today from a rather cold Flanders. Revisited family graves on Salient but did get to Locre no 10 for first time. Enjoy your time away

It’s always cold when I go there…… I have every intention of spending a day to the west of Mont Kemmel – Locre I have of course covered, but not the cemeteries at Westoutre & Reninghelst. Thank you – I intend to!

I’m very jealous. I last went over in 2019 and have been itching to get back, but life keeps getting in the way. I’m only 10 minutes from Dover so usually do day trips or overnights, but this summer I’m aiming for 4-5 days to make up for it. I hope you enjoy your trip

    Happy travels my friend, enjoy!

Me too! I’m very jealous. Another Anzac Day in Melbourne… I’d rather be anywhere in France or Belgium probably Le Verguier would be perfect… my great grand uncle was awarded a Military Medal for ‘doings’ (as he described the action) at Ascension Wood. The citation reads ‘he bayoneted the leading Hun’… gruesome work.

    Enjoy your journey MagicFingers.
