Above & below: The grave of Major Herbert Augustine Carter VC, who died from exhaustion in East Africa in January 1916. He won his VC in India in 1903. The Church of St. Erth. Locked.
St. Ives War Memorial & Memorial Gardens
The St. Ives N.C.I. (National Coastwatch Institution) Station on Island promontory on the north side of St. Ives. The gun emplacement was constructed in 1860 as part of the shore defences against a possible invasion by Napoleon III.
