   Am ploughing slowly & painfully a quarter of the way through researching & writing biographies of all WW1 names on the Pirbright War Memorial, hopefully in time for the centenary. Any relevant family, local or military info gratefully received.

     Dear Jonathon A friend of mine, Dr Nina Baker is trying to research a lady who is buried in the churchyard of St Michael and All Angels. Her name is Margaret Coats c. 1765- 1835. She is , sadly, not on your excellent index or at least Philip Duteuil could not find her. She was the first woman to join the Institute of Hammermen. Nina would love to get in touch to discover more anout her and her famaily, she passed away in Pirbright Lodge. I am afraid that I do not have your email address and was wondering if you could send it to me so that I can put the 2 of you in touch. Hoping that all is well with you and Joan.    Hello Jonathan,
   For some time I was the bookings secretary for the Brookwood Memorial Halls. During that time I began to research the names on the War Memorial plaque, which hangs in the Large Hall. I have discovered that the F. Webb on our plaque is the same as the Frederick Webb 2nd Leinster Reg. that appears on the Pirbright Memorial. I would be willing to pass on to you any information that I have discovered about him. At the same time it would be a great help to me if you have any information that you could pass on to me. Some of my research is already on the halls website.
